Since the rise of social media and e-commerce from the start of early 2000, the need of every company to go online has become a must. Large online transactions, financial movements, government records, bloggers, YouTube, search results, social connections, user database, computation of large audience data that provides great value and insights to the company, everything is now on the internet. And this will only grow over the next few decades. Today, the global business of dedicated server hosting has crossed 6 billion USD annually and is expected to cross another 1 billion dollars by the end of 2020.
Anyone that is planning to set up a cloud infrastructure, will need dedicated servers and hardware to set up their own cluster or infrastructures. So, it wouldn't be incorrect to say that the market of the dedicated server will be on the rise for at least the next 10 years.
Now, It would be hard to provide which markets have the highest market share of dedicated server hosting, but to our knowledge, the US holds the maximum share of approximately 35-40% of the global market share. Due to superior infrastructure and top quality network connection, most of the Infrastructure giants including Amazon and Google have their base in the US.
Germany is the second most popular company to hold operation base for companies offering Infrastructure solutions holding a market share of approximately 15%.
Due to this rise in Infrastructure and support demand in the Asian market, China has emerged as a strong player in developing and offering this service holding a market share of approximately 7%.
Some of the other European countries including the United Kingdom, Netherlands, France, etc. have also emerged capturing a market share of approximately 10% collectively.
Currently, the competition is so high largely driven by pricing and managed service being offered which is great! It makes an industry mature by pushing creativity and innovation. And due to this factor, many other countries like Russia, India, Republic of Korea, and many more are competing hard to make a mark and enter the big league.
