There isn't much difference between Linux Mint and Ubuntu and apart from the desktop environment and default applications, there isn't really a difference.
While many arguments can be made for using Linux Mint and not Ubuntu, there are counter-arguments for the opposite installation.
Ubuntu is the more well-known of the two distros. More Ubuntu-related web content exists due to the size of its community, which is a big help when you’re starting off. But much of what applies to Ubuntu also applies to Mint.
