Proxy servers are the intermediate servers that are placed between the user and the websites to achieve anonymity. When you try to access a website through a proxy server, your request goes to the proxy server which then forwards it to the website. For the website, the request seems to originate from the proxy server and you are completely hidden from it. This is called a forward proxy.
On the other hand, the server sometimes needs to achieve anonymity to enhance their security. In this case, the server installs the proxy server that appears to be the destination for the user. This restores the anonymity of the user. Such a process is called a reverse proxy.
Now, coming to your question, Either of the product will work fine. Today, the bigger debate is which one of the mentioned application provides more feature. However, you must choose wisely as most of the features you won't be using at all. Our recommendation would be Nginx because it's the easiest of the four to configure and use at no cost to performance. Nginx is also the most common reverse proxy in use (and the second most common web server after apache), meaning better support for you and a higher.
HAProxy is also an amazing utility but that would be our second choice.
