Layer 7 DDoS
Please select this feature to provide protection against application-level DDoS attacks. The Layer 7(Application Layer) DDoS attacks are very hard to detect and mitigate.
The Layer 7 DDoS protection feature comes with two options - DDoS Exemption and IP Whitelist.
DDoS Exemption
If we see no threat to a particular type of content and do not want DDoS protection for such data, you can use this option. All you have to do is specify the file and folder in the field displayed below.
E.g. All traffic accessing following location yourdomain/folder/images will not be monitored or filtered if you add it to DDoS Exemption.
IP Whitelist
Use this feature to Whitelist a specific IP from the DDoS protection list.
E.g. If you specify 123.456.789.0 IP address, the DDoS protection will whitelist the IP and will by pass all filtering and monitoring process.
